Yap Attack!
We are the Youth Advisory Panel. If we don’t like something, you’ll know about it!
Around the end of each school term a bunch of us, some eight, others 25-years-old, meet at MyBnk HQ in Brick Lane.
Here we bash about money lessons, enterprise ideas, do silly dances and eat pizza.
No one has ever asked us how we’d like to be taught, but the feedback we give MyBnk goes straight into the classroom, we know, we’ve seen it!
Many of us sit in on job interviews; act as MyBnk Ambassadors at events and get work experience opportunities.
Everyone at the YAP is a volunteer, we want to be here and are passionate about helping young people like us know how to manage their money and enter the world of enterprise.

Last time round….14/07/12
MyBnk chucked us three things, jazz up a programme, play the new MyBnk money game and review a song.
- Games help, especially on a Saturday morning. We tested a new MyBnk money GAME that’ll be on Facebook and iPads! Having a competitive element is crucial really important to engage young people and make them want to play….and learn!
- We tested three new ethical products that young people will be selling via Enterprise-in-a-Box. One of them was coffee. Well, we don’t really like coffee! Also it may not be an appropriate product to sell to people our age.
- MyBnk wanted our feedback on the new MyBnk SONG!
It was made by JFX and is meant to be an anthem for young people and their relationship with money. We went through the lyrics and we like it!
It had energy, rhythm and a positive message, don’t dodge tough decisions, save and pay your way. It wasn’t preachy and didn’t taste like cheese. Our comments will help the making of the video and how they should promote it. We also told them it needs to be on iTunes and Youtube with a music video!
