Guy Rigden Biography

Guy Rigden became MyBnk CEO in 2016 after joining as Expansion Director in 2013 and becoming Co-CEO in 2014.

Under his leadership, MyBnk has increased the breadth and depth of its work with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.

The charity has also started working with primary-aged children and is developing financial capability programmes for the deaf and the blind.

In addition, Guy has overseen the successful integration of the award winning youth homelessness project, The Money House, into the charity’s structure and national and international growth. He leads on policy, recently testifying to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Financial Education for Young People and a House of Lords Select Committee inquiry into Financial Exclusion. He is also a member of the Money Advice Service’s Financial Capability Board for the UK.

Guy graduated BSc. International Trade and Development from the London School of Economics and had a successful career in international equities, including as Global investment strategist for Union Bank of Switzerland and, more recently, Head of Credit Suisse’s emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa equity business. He chaired the Africa Investment Banking Committee and was a member of the European Equity Executive.

In September 2011, he was appointed interim CEO of Microloan Foundation, Malawi, re-locating to the regional town of Kasungu. He was responsible for 120 employees in 20 offices looking after 23,000 clients. Micro Loan is about giving hope not hand-outs, a mission consistent and inspirational to that of MyBnk.

Guy is passionate about cutting through the finance waffle, engaging young people to take control of their money and live enterprising lives, while guarding against the pit-falls.
