Triathletes raise £5K for financial education
The trio came in second overall against scores of competing teams at the Dorney, Berkshire sports complex.
This money will help 100s of pupils and vulnerable young people across London learn how to manage money, budget, prioritise debts and prepare for independent living.
The award winning Brick Lane social enterprise is halfway to raising £20,000 in a matched funded campaign supported by H&M CEO Karl Johnan-Persson via JustGiving.
On Sunday at Dorney, Berkshire:
- Johnny Tomlinson, who helps scores of locals a week as part of the 1-2-1 Money Advice Service, ran 10K.
- Mette Barker, who assists schools in partnering with MyBnk, came first in her 1.5K swim.
- Guy Ridgen, who helps spread MyBnk’s work nationally and internationally, battled 42.5K of cycle track.
Young people will take part in interactive Money Twist sessions which bust banking jargon, tackle wants and needs and arms them with key personal finance skills.
Others will begin intervention Money Works workshops designed to detoxify their relationship with money and address debt.
We are currently offering thousands of pounds of free financial and enterprise education programmes to schools and youth groups across London – click here, to book a session.
