You guessed it.

MyBnk have won The Children and Young People Award from Children & Young People Now magazine!

Education Officer Hannah Jones did the honours at the Hurlingham Club after delivering all-day Money Twist session at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Knights Academy. What a trooper.

This award is a biggie and was decided by young people and those working to give young people the support to succeed.

CYPN called us:

“A charity that has made the most impressive contribution, at a local and national level, in improving the life chances of children, young people and families.”

They also hailed our innovative practice (the bank!), effective partnership (franchises!) and campaign for change.

A huge pat on the back to everyone at Team MyBnk, friends, funders, but most importantly the young people, teachers and youth workers who make doing what we do, worth doing.

According to Children’s minister Edward Timpson: “Forget the Oscars, forget the Emmys, forget Sports Personality of the Year, it’s the Children & Young People Now Awards that we really need to celebrate”. You got it.

And a financial education and enterprise Brucie Bonus: Our programmes have also scooped two Community Education Awards!

Haberdashers’ Aske’s Knights Academy, won The Personal Money Management Award for Money Twist and Walthamstow School for Girls secured The Commitment to Saving Award for their MyBnk-in-a-Box  microfinance scheme.

Congratulations to both and we look forward to the presentation ceremonies in the New Year, watch this space.
