Welcome to Talk Money Week (TMW) 2021!

Running from 8-12th November 2021, the UK awareness initiative, run by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), aims to kickstart conversations on budgeting, banking, saving and pensions.

On the frontline we are bringing money to life with financial education workshops for nearly 1,000 young people in 15 schools and youth organisations across the UK. Using games and high energy activities we’re tackling money mindsets, debt and independent living.

We also have a range of online courses and tools available to ensure no young person misses out on their financial education.

Our special TMW free resources for 7-11 and 11-16 year olds will help young people understand the importance of being open and communicative about money. They will gain the confidence to openly discuss their knowledge of costs in the UK, what they like to spend their money on and the importance of saving.

Look out for more financial education news throughout the week via our social media channels.

National Strategy

The initiative is also part of the UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing, launched by MaPS in January 2020, which has ambitious ten-year goals to help everyone make the most of their money and pensions

Independent evaluation by MaPS has shown that after MyBnk’s intervention, two thirds of school students work towards a savings goal – double the national average of 34%. Young adult’s debts drop on average 60% – compared to control groups who see average debts grow by 50%.

A huge thanks to all our funders for TMW including The Centre for Financial Capability, the Quilter, Berkeley and JP Morgan Chase Foundations and Pimco.
