To celebrate our 15th Birthday, MyBnk announces the winner of a competition to design a new mascot
“New Year, New Me” is the common phrase we hear every January. We don’t want to bore you with our plans to eat fewer crisps and exercise more. But we are very excited to announce a brand new MyBnk mascot for 2023.
Last year to celebrate our 15th birthday we ran a competition with MyBnk ambassador primary schools to design a new mascot.
The competition was fierce with many worthy entries. However, the overall winner was ‘Safe’, a friendly money safe designed by Mouzin in year 4 from St Jude’s Lower in Portsmouth. The judges loved the thought and creativity behind the character.
A big thank you to our competition funder, Compare The Market, as well as MyBnk directors, trustees, youth ambassadors and Compare The Market staff who judged the competition.

So, what’s next for Safe? Well, they will be spruced up by a designer ready to add to MyBnk resources, before being transformed into a real-life mascot to use in our financial education sessions.
We needed a mascot to add some life to our financial education sessions and we are confident that the winning design will help improve financial literacy, especially for those in their younger years – and that’s a Safe bet!
