As supporters of financial education and enterprise, I am delighted to present our Annual Report, highlighting MyBnk’s achievements in 2012/13.
It has been a year full of achievements for MyBnk as our programmes continue to delight young people and receive recognition. MyBnk won the Children and Young People’s Charity Award as “a charity that has made the most impressive contribution in improving the life chances of children, young people and families”.
We have worked directly with 22,000 young people in 251 organisations, from schools to Leaving Care teams, delivering financial and enterprise education to those that need it most.
Thanks to our efforts and colleagues in our sector, financial education will be part of the National Curriculum from September 2014. Our programmes provide schools with a high-impact offering that covers all curriculum requirements. We are also responding to the introduction of Universal Credit by ensuring that our sessions support young people in understanding and navigating the new system.
Through our newly-accredited enterprise offering, we are excited to support some of the 54% of 18-30 year olds wanting to start their own businesses. MyBnk will also continue to play an important role providing the financial literacy element of the government’s National Citizens Service and the face-to-face delivery of the Money Advice Service.
We have a fantastically full year ahead of us, one that the MyBnk team and I are truly excited about and in which we are committed to reaching over 30,000 young people.
I hope you will join us on this journey. We have many funded sessions available, please get in touch to explore how we may work together.
